In our own words we would say that an NGO is non government organization that is also non profit. Everyone involved is a volunteer, and there are many different organizations that help many different world issues. NGOs make the world a better place.

Our NGO is The Arthritis Society, which is based in Moncton.
Mission of NGO
The mission of our NGO is "to invest in cutting-edge research, proactive advocacy and innovative solutions that will deliver better health outcomes for people affected by arthritis." The mission is to raise money which will be used to further the knowledge and treatments for arthritis, their goal is to help people living with arthritis Arthritis can majorly impact lives, and they just want to help make those lives more comfortable. With all these funds and research the ultimate goal is to have a permanent cure for Arthritis.
History of NGO
The history of our NGO is that it is a rather new NGO. They have always been dedicated to furthering their Arthritis research. Over time they have raised and raised more funds and awareness. They have many Arthritis patients come in and this research helps find cures, or more ways to manage their existing symptoms. Founded in 1947, the organization has grown tremendously.
Overview (Details: who, what, when, how, why)
Krista Phillips is the main coordinator for the base in Moncton, which means she looks over everyone and everything thats going on. The main thing that they do here is fundraise and research. While this is a rather new organization in NB they do have experience. There are also other locations all around Canada with many years of being open. The first one was founded in 1947, with the first president being Dr.Wallace Graham. Since then this organization has grown and branched all over Canada. This is an all year organization, therefore the seasons don't matter. You can come in anytime, and the research is always happening, People are involved in this because they may have seen a loved one facing the extreme pains of Arthritis and the topic may interest them. The pope who come in here suffer from Arthritis, or have loved ones suffering from it and may be looking for some help and advice.
Reason of choosing NGO
We chose The Arthritis Society because we think Arthritis is an overlooked condition, that isn't always taken as seriously. We appreciate the fact that there are people willing to take a step to forward the treatment for Arthritis.This is a new topic that we haven't gone into much detail before. We didn't know this NGO was based right here in Moncton, so we also found it interesting that people in are community are helping support this cause.
